When I was a child, I always looked forward to my birthday as every year I wished that my parents would throw a party for me. Thinking back, I had a few, most held at home and one at Burger King (I was some BK Club member then, haha!) There were relatives, friends, birthday cake, birthday song, presents… Wonderful things that a child would wish for on this special day.

When I grew up, my close friends will laugh at me, saying that my birthday is like some national day where celebration lasts for a week. Well, that’s because I prefer gathering in small groups, so there will be my family, secondary, JC, poly and Uni friends, colleagues, ex-colleagues etc. Ya so maybe not a week lah, just few separate occasions where lovely folks celebrate my birthday with me.

However, things are getting a little different now, or rather my idea of birthday. I don’t really make birthday wish anymore, somehow lost the “magical feeling” for it along the years. I’m just simply happy that loved ones bother to remember this day, spend a precious effort to send their wishes to me and especially touched when friends overseas spent those extra dollars calling me, wishing me and catching up.

And it was really heart-warming that a friend working in Shanghai, Liping sent me a birthday card. Gosh, I was like, “Shanghai stamps! Birthday card! Handwritten!” I was truly touched. The best gift I received this year is a handmade photo box, beautifully decorated, and with a pair of pretty earrings stuck on it. I love it.

Dear family and friends:
For all the birthday wishes, presents, sweet thoughts and love, THANK YOU.

My Birthday 2009.

My Bday

060609 at Night Safari.

It was not some kinda disappearance act.

My life was just very busy… and… a little messy lately.

But well, life goes on, whether you like it or not. Anyway, I’m good at “finding gold in shit”, so I found something to be happy about – my semestral exam is over, and which means I’m halfway through my course YAY!

Celebrated Mummy’s birthday last Saturday. Before dinner, we watched Night At The Museum 2, while munching on hotdogs. The movie was pretty entertaining, I laughed quite abit and so did Mummy (all thanks to the Chinese subtitles and a very cute monkey in the show).

Then, we had dinner at HEEREN’s Waraku Jap Dining. Time to check out the foodie!

Btw, did I tell you I like your hair colour? Hehe…

It was Fion’s last day yesterday, though it was only 103 days having her around, but we had a happy and memorable time together.

All the best to you, Fion! But I’m sorry you will have to behave yourself at your next workplace, because I’m quite sure you can’t find such crazy colleagues as adorable as US!

Visited sometime ago “The Tippling Club” at Dempsey where my dear chef friend – Julian works.

molecular-tippling

My first time experiencing molecular cuisine.

A fresh touch to my taste buds, but my advice is, don’t try when you’re really hungry, haha~

Worth a visit. Thanks Julian for your recommendations.

Well, it has been more than a week, but these captured precious moments are definitely worth sharing.

After months of preparation, we were waiting

That was 883Jia FM 2-year-old birthday and many more to come!

Haven’t got time to update my blog as I was suffocated with preparing for our station’s birthday event and meeting tutorial deadlines at the same time, *phew* I’m truly glad that all went well.

The birthday party last night at St James Movida was a success with a wonderful turn up of 600 over people!

My most sincere thanks to all listeners who joined us at the party, and all the fantastic people who have helped in one way or another.

We had a post birthday celebration for Stephy this afternoon, and we ladies (plus Mad’s hubby, the only gentleman) had a good yum cha session at Toa Payoh Crystal Jade.
