We had a post birthday celebration for Stephy this afternoon, and we ladies (plus Mad’s hubby, the only gentleman) had a good yum cha session at Toa Payoh Crystal Jade.

Good food. Great friends. Love life.
Dropped by at Zimin’s home after yum cha and visited Guanwen boy. Woa~ he’s such a big boy now!

Guanwen cutie and auntie Ying.

Did you ever realise that you spend more time with your colleagues rather than with your family and friends? Seven days a week, you probably work for five or four days, from morning till evening, sometimes maybe even work OT till the night.
And so, I appreciate one of the greatest things that happened in my life is that I have some colleagues who are as dear as friends.
We share happy moments:

At Butter Factory again, before it shut down for its revamp.
And we go through parting sadness together:

Tomorrow is Matt’s last day. All the best to you, boy!

When long time friends get together, it’s always about good food, eager catch-ups and sure whole lot of laughter.

Lou ah! For a great year ahead and our everlasting friendship~
I rarely use the self-timer function on my digicam, and got so excited that I fell on my fours when I dashed to join the rest who were “freezing” for the photo. And when I flopped, all burst out into crazy laughter… Best. All of you are not my friends!!

Finally I saw this cutie pie – KAYLER! My friend Grace gave birth to her first child, a lovely daughter last September, and I have yet to give Kayler girl a goo……d pinch on her chubby face until last Saturday.
Some of my friends insisted that baby Kayler should call us jie jie, ohh… c’mon ladies, who are you trying to bluff? If Kayler’s mummy is our friend and Kayler calls us jie jie, so does that mean that your child will call u jie jie in future? Ha…

Kayler was so excited to see us that she can’t stop grabbing onto Jessie’s hair!

Mum Grace (extreme R), Kayler and jie jie-s *in delusion*
Mum Grace, Kayler and aunties *back to reality*

The food theme was local delights.
And, our appetite remains “healthy” over the years since JC days.

My don’t know number what louhei this year with my dear friends.

Was pretty clueless about cosplay initially, until I was assigned to host the Cosplay Challenge 2009 event held at Singapore Discovery Centre.
I learnt that it’s not only about anime, but these cosplayers also put in alot of time, effort and hard work to understand the characters, sew their costumes and create their own “weapons”.
Many of them are very young, like I met one who is only 14 years old, but they are all very passionate about this hobby, and they picked up useful skills like operating the sewing machine.
Most importantly, they experienced the meaning of determination.

Sometimes we can live out of reality for a while in life to make us happy.

We celebrated Huat and Char’s birthday, enjoying a relaxing afternoon over high tea at Shangri La hotel.

The birthday boy and the birthday girl with their lovely pressies.

The noisy bunch.
Another February baby. Gave Jessie a birthday surprise, though it was quite an early one, but rare occasion that most of us gathered for a dinner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESS! (seated right)

Went to bai nian at Xianglin and Shanyi’s home sweet home. Of course, I was all excited to check out Shanyi’s culinary skills.

The chef, the helper, the zobo-s and the “extras”
(me posing with strawberries and Jieying with oranges).
The food was finger-licking good! I personally liked the lamb chop and broccoli salad prepared by Shanyi. Actually, the sheppard’s pie that Xianglin ordered was pretty delicious too.

Dig in!!

How can we miss out the sweets and lots of catching up?
Thanks Xianglin and Shanyi for being such wonderful hosts. So, when’s the next time huh? *grin*

Now that I think back, the CNY days seem to have flew past. Though the “schedule” was hectic, but all the visiting and gatherings were enjoyable. It just feels great to be with your loved ones.
On the first day of CNY, I went to my third uncle’s home and there was a popiah feast awaiting us!

Happy NIU Year!!

CNY is about food and more food… …
This popiah prepared by my third aunt is amazingly GOOD!

My family potrait.

And, the beautiful – my mum and fifth aunt.
Then, there was Jiayi’s “open house”, where we checked out his new home.

Eh, actually we don’t need a “human backdrop”, DUH~
On the second day, I finally saw my cutie nephew Alden, oooh… he’s so adorable.

The new addition to my nephews and nieces collection.
In the evening, I had dinner at the Cliff Restaurant located in Sentosa Beaufort Hotel. Hmm… the food was ok only but I like the ambience, cozy and romantic.

Some mains served at the Cliff.

A dessert set specially prepared by Julian’s chef friend.
I heart the chocolate-passion fruit sorbet.

A fulfilling dinner at the Cliff.
Btw, had another louhei with parents on CNY eve at the Mayim restaurant at West Mall.

GONG HEI FATT CHOY!!

Another round of yusheng YAY. Before CNY, I wished for many many yusheng sessions and my wish came true. So next, I wish for a lot a lot of money!!

The more we lao together, the richer we’ll be… …
Btw this restaurant near Tiong Bahru market serves very good Thai cuisine, and it offers set meals of reasonable prices. Its yusheng has a unique taste of Chinese-and-Thai mixed flavour, yum yum~
Then, we pre celebrated Charlene’s birthday, giving her a BIG surprise. Check out her surprise (or shock?) look ha!

HAPPY BURFDAE CHAR! We’ll be pretty forever, I’m sure.
It’s still CNY, so keep up the joyous festive mood! Lalalala~
